Mondelēz International empowers people to snack right in over 150 countries around the world. They lead the future of snacking with iconic global and local brands such as Oreo, belVita, and LU biscuits; Cadbury Dairy Milk, Milka and Toblerone chocolate; Sour Patch Kids candy, Trident gum, and chocolate biscuits Barni.
The project had very tight timeframes, making it difficult to fit in all of the complex processes, such as generating a database of codes and defining a system for prize distribution.
As a result of this project, the New Year promo for cookie brand OREO was to take place with the possibility to win a prize.
The customer journey looks as follows – the customer buys cookies in the shop and receives a code which they can use to win a prize. Following the link https://oreopromo.org (not available already) the customer gets to the page to go through a quick and simple registration to get to the page where they see a fortune ball with interactive elements on the screen snowflakes and sparkles creating a New Year mood appear. Then after shaking the ball like you’d do in real life (by shaking your phone or moving it by the mouse if used on a PC), the user gets either a New Year wish or receives a notification about winning the prize and seeing it’s a photo. There is also a possibility to share your results on social networks.
We were making all of this possible due to the hard preparatory work has done before the campaign’s launch. We needed to generate 12-digit codes that would be separated and transmitted to retail chains. If the user won a prize, they would need to come to a particular location with the original check to claim their prize. The operator at the receiving point would use the administrative page to match the check number with a certain prize code.
